Alcohol and Other Drug Studies Certificate Program


“If you are interested in the field of alcohol and drug abuse counseling, or if you are a counselor already working in the field, this program was designed for you.”

This program has two levels:
• Comprehensive AOD program-I
• Comprehensive AOD program-II

The following comprehensive course work and hands- on training is provided to ensure success in a very challenging and demanding career in the behavioral health field:

• Samhsa’s up-to-date TAP 21 competencies that all substance abuse counselors should master.
• Get up to speed on the most current terminology being used in the field
• Learn the latest skills, facts, and approaches to providing the most effective and up-to-the-minute services to your clients
• Participate in real-world modeled treatment interventions such as Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and CBT.
• Gain a full understanding of models and applications utilized in the exciting and up-and-coming Co-Occurring Field
• Develop highly important skills such as Clinical Evaluation, Assessment and Service Coordination
• Gain experience with essential Case Management expertise such as linking, referring, consultation, and community based interventions.
