ABOUT
Western Reserve Music Teachers Association is dedicated to fostering relationships among area teachers of all musical disciplines. We seek to advance standards of excellence in the field of music education and performance. Our teachers enjoy relevant programs which allow for collaboration and professional growth. Students participate in varied performance opportunities. Musical friendships are developed!
MTNA, the Music Teachers National Association, our national affiliate, was founded in 1876. It is the oldest organization for professional music teachers of all instruments and voice. OhioMTA was founded in 1879 and is the Ohio affiliate of MTNA.
We mainly serve the MTNA/OhioMTA members who reside in the Summit County area, however, any MTNA member is welcome to join.

WRMTA members enjoy quality educational programs, a community of fellow music teachers, and many outstanding opportunities for their students.
WRMTA members can also access the Akron Summit County Public Library Auditorium and Steinway Grand Piano for performances/recitals at a reduced fee. Find out more here.
